The Industry Training Organisation provides services to apprentices, employers and the public.

Our services include 

» Managing apprenticeship training in the plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying industries and the roofing installation industry

» Providing leadership on behalf of the plumbing, gasfitting, drainlaying and roofing industries for a variety of skill and training needs

» Setting skill standards for plumbing, gasfitting, drainlaying and roofing, in consultation with evolving industry needs

The Industry Training Organisation manages education and training for these industries by

» Registering apprentices

» Recording and monitoring apprenticeships

» Moderating results to ensure national standards are maintained

» Providing information and advice to apprentices, employers and the public.

Our History

On 20 October 1992, the Master Plumbers, Gasfitters & Drainlayers NZ Inc (the Society) was recognised by the Board of Education and Training Support as an Industry Training Organisation, the first Industry Training Organisation to be recognised in New Zealand.

On 1 July 2005, the Industry Training Organisation separated from the Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers NZ Inc to become the Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying Industry Training Organisation Limited (PGDRITO) encompassing plumbing, gasfitting, drainlaying and roofing.
